What Is the Use of Information and Communication Technology in Teaching of Vocational Subjects ?

Information and communication technology (ICT) is one of the most important tools for vocational teaching. It helps teachers to create audio-visual presentations and manage digital materials more easily. ICT can also be used to create online platforms for student collaboration. Additionally, ICT can be used to provide students with feedback on their work.In today’s modern world, globalization has completely changed the way of working. How we live, learn, work, and even define work has changed due to new information and communication technologies. It can be stated that human capital fuels the modern economy, but in reality, the information and communication technology revolution has turned intelligence into a valuable commodity. In today’s economy, economic growth is based on mental intelligence rather than physical strength, and its worth is generated by recruiting knowledgeable workers and continuing to learn. Therefore, incorporating information and communication technology (ICT) into vocational and technical education and the educational system has a vast range of consequences for teaching and learning. ICT has enormous potential in developing vocational and professional teaching and learning content. Therefore educators have to be mindful in incorporating ICT into the educational transfer framework. However, this may result in typical guidance problems that come with reform, as it is, after all, an invention. Therefore, educators must be able to balance the advantages and disadvantages of embracing ICT as a tool.

It is used to teach and learn vocational subjects.

In the past, vocational education was considered as an offshoot of general education, aimed at training students for specific occupations. However, this is no longer the case. Vocational education is now seen as an important and necessary component of the education system. It prepares students for specific occupations and assists them in acquiring the knowledge and skills required for those occupations.

Information and communication technology (ICT) has become an important part of vocational education. It is used to teach and learn vocational subjects. ICT tools such as computers, internet, and multimedia are used to make learning more interesting, interactive, and effective. They help students learn difficult concepts and skills in a more engaging and fun way.

ICT also helps students connect with the outside world and get information about the latest job trends and opportunities. It allows them to connect with other students and professionals in their field, share experiences and learn from each other. ICT also helps students develop their communication and problem-solving skills.

Overall, ICT plays a vital role in teaching and learning vocational subjects. It helps students learn more effectively and prepares them for the challenges of the real world.

Vocational education and training of human resources in tourism play an important role in the development of the tourism industry and hence in the national, regional and global economy. In this paper, we aimed to analyze the effective use of smart education in the teaching and learning process in tourism. The research was conducted over three academic years (2013–2014,2014–2015, 2015–2016) in 12 high schools providing tourism specializations in Constanta County,Romania. The main method used was an experiment. Thus, we used information and communication technology (ICT) methods in the educational process (the independent variable) in order to compare students’ results to those obtained in control classes, in which only traditional teaching methods were used. The results of our research confirmed our initial hypotheses, namely the fact that by usingICT methods within tourism classes, students understand and assimilate specialised knowledge faster and better, and they form and develop specific skills at a higher level than by using traditional teaching methods. This means that by using the latest technology in classes for teaching and learning disciplines in tourism, it is possible to develop, by the end of the superior cycle of high school, the future qualified human resources required for sustainable tourism.

Conclusion

The use of information and communication technology in the teaching of vocational subjects is evident in the recognition of the benefits it has brought about in the students’ achievements. Likewise, the use of this technology has helped in the development of students’ abilities to use current technologies.
